THE HOT STAMPING PROCESS WITH GOLD LEAF

The MADBAG logo is imprinted onto the leather through a gold foil hot stamping process, a handcrafted technique that transforms the leather surface into a precious canvas. A very thin gold foil is applied using a die engraved with the MADBAG monogram.

Thanks to the perfect combination of heat and pressure, the monogram fuses with the leather, creating a luminous, elegant and permanent signature that distinguishes each creation.

Each MADBAG creation takes shape through artisanal techniques passed down over time. At this stage, the craftsman manually traces the stitching line on the leather using an awl, a traditional tool that allows each stitch to be guided with absolute precision.

Skin

The leather we use comes exclusively from tanned rawhides—primarily cow, goat, or sheep—and is a byproduct of the food industry. We never use exotic skins, as they pose unacceptable risks to animal welfare. Products with reptile-effect finishes are made from embossed and printed cowhide to reproduce the look of exotic skins. Leather is a noble but sensitive material: the softer it is, the more delicate and prone to scratches it can be. For this reason, the tanning process is crucial, as it preserves and strengthens the rawhide, making it more flexible and suitable for processing.

Suede

Suede is created by splitting the hide, removing the outer layer and leaving a soft inner surface characterized by long fibers and a smooth, velvety texture. Due to its nature, it is more delicate than full-grain leather and is therefore more prone to scratches and stains.

Lining: 100% Cotton

Using 100% cotton linings and dust bags is a natural, durable, and responsible choice. Unlike synthetic fibers, cotton is breathable and soft to the touch, making it ideal for protecting and preserving bags over time.
